Rather than a recent, famous, or highly anticipated film featuring insects, I wanted to suggest this eco-horror curiosity from the 1970s, in which a new species of fire-breathing cockroaches emerges from the bowels of the earth to terrorize its inhabitants. While it lives up to its reputation as a B movie by ticking all the boxes associated with the genre, it is also a little more than that, exploring aesthetic and narrative resources that go far beyond this category.<\/em><\/p>\n
